Sell-out crowds expected at SCC's
'Pooh'

Sell-out crowds are
expected for the 11th Annual Shawnee Community College spring
musical, A. A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh. Winnie the Pooh is a
musical comedy in two acts, with lyrics by A. A. Milne and
Kristin Sergel, and music by Allan Jay Friedman. The musical
performance is based on the book by Kristin Sergel, Dramatic
Publishing Company.
Performances will be in the SCC Educational Center located on
the main campus, near Ullin.
School matinees include four performances, March 2 and 3, at 9
a.m. and noon each day. Students are $2 and adults are $5. A new
feature is the Saturday afternoon matinee on March 4 at 2 p.m.
Evening performances are Friday and Saturday, March 3 and 4 at 7
p.m. each evening. Students are $5 and adults are $8.
The Saturday matinee and the evening performances will be
followed by special meet the cast opportunities in the
atrium.
"Pooh Bear's Honey Buffet" will be served in the
SCC cafeteria prior to the performances on Saturday, March, at
12:30 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. The buffet is by advanced
reservation only at a cost of $8.50 per person. The menu includes
southern fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans,
honey glazed carrots, biscuits and, of course, honey, assorted
pies, tea, coffee and water.
